OLDHAM’s jobless total has dropped by 545, following the national trend.
The total in Oldham has fallen every month since February with the current large drop attributed to staff on temporary contracts for the pre-Christmas period.
There are currently 3,235 men out of work, a fall of 361 on the previous month, and 1,959 jobless women, a drop of 184. The last time there were fewer than 2,000 unemployed women in Oldham was in March 2011.
