Date published: 20 December 2013
OLDHAM Council is to receive almost £1.5 million from the Government next year to help to build more homes.
The award is part of a £34.8 million New Homes Bonus for authorities across Greater Manchester, paid each year for six years, the amount based on the number of homes built.
By 2014-15, Greater Manchester will have received just under £85 million, enabling the area to build more than 17,000 new homes and bring more than 10,000 empty properties back into use. The figure includes 5,400 affordable homes.
