Christina Orme: 100 on Christmas Day
CHRISTMAS has always been extra special for Christina Orme: it’s her birthday too.
This year Tina also opened a special card from the Queen - as she celebrated her 100th birthday.
Tina’s friends at Throstle Court in Royton also made sure she had a fantastic day, with a surprise birthday party and buffet on Christmas Eve.
A lifelong Oldham resident, Tina worked in a variety of different jobs over the years, from building electronic equipment during the war, to looking after nursery children in Royton. She had three children, five grandchildren and now seven great-grandchildren.
Her son Harold said: “She is a wonderful woman. Up until she was 97 she was always going out and about on the bus, then health problems slowed her down a bit.”
