A THIRD of 10 and 11-year-olds in Oldham are overweight, new figures have revealed.
The data was collected for the annual National Child Measurement Programme. The figures also show almost 24 per cent of reception-age children are overweight.
But the proportion of obese children was lower than in 2011-2012.
The number of year six Oldham children described as obese fell from 20.2 per cent to 19.3 per cent in 2013, with reception-aged pupils in this category down from 10.4 per cent to 10.2 per cent.
