Mates bare (nearly) all for calendar

NAKED ambition was the driving force for a group of mates keen to raise money for charity.

Chadderton dad-of-three Martyn Green recruited 16 of his mates to pose in the buff for a calendar.

He said: “It all started as a joke on Facebook when one of my mates posted a picture of himself with no clothes on. Others reciprocated with their own photos... and it just went from there.”

In December, the volunteers descended on the Bowling Green pub in Manchester Road to take part in a naked photoshoot for the calendar, which will raise money for Macmillan.

Martyn said: “Unfortunately, most of the lads have been touched by cancer in some way so we felt Macmillan was the perfect charity. Shaw photographer Danny Sheppard did the pictures for free and a few local businesses sponsored us to cover the printing costs. All we need now is for everyone to buy a copy.”
