Phoenix is aiming high...

PHOENIX Free School has adopted the motto of the secondary schoool that once stood on its site.
It has chosen “semper sursum” — Latin for “always aim high” — which was the motto of Fitton Hill School.
The council has agreed to give the former Fitton Hill site in Rosary Road to Phoenix for a peppercorn rent for 125 years. Phoenix will lease the neighbouring former Marland Fold Special School until a new school is built.
The public can now find out more about the school at a community event at Hill Top Surgery, Fircroft Road, Fitton Hill, from 6 to 7.30pm on Tuesday.
Anyone who wants to attend the event should call 0161-633 2699 or email phoenixfs@outlook.com.
