Change of date for carnival

OLDHAM’S annual carnival comes up at Alexandra Park on June 22 this year, organisers have announced.

The event is traditionally held on the last weekend in June, but has been brought forward to avoid a clash with the start of Ramadan.

There will also be activities and attractions on June 21 in the town centre, and on the Sunday (22), fitness fans can take part in the sponsored Carnival to Moors 7k race.
