A MAN has been arrested following the stabbing of an Oldham man after Oldham Athletic’s FA Cup third-round clash with Liverpool.
Mark Gregory (35) was knifed four times on the backside and once at the top of his leg shortly after Latics’ 2-0 defeat on January 5.
Mr Gregory, from Dukinfield, Tameside, had several operations to stop internal bleeding following the attack on Lower Breck Road, close to the Flat Iron pub. He is now recovering.
Merseyside Police carried out raids leading to the arrest of a 24-year-old man at a house on Lyme Cross, Huyton, on suspicion of violent disorder and wounding.
The man, who has not been named, is being questioned in custody.
