A WOMAN appeared at Cambridge Crown Court yesterday charged in connection with a fatal arson attack in Oxford in 1997.

Fiaz Munshi (38), of Manley Road, Oldham, was arrested over a blaze that killed Anum Khan (8), and her brother Majid (15) in Cowley.

Munshi’s next appearance in court - probably the Old Bailey - will be on February 27.

Five men were convicted and jailed for life for murder in 1998. The trial was told Munshi had left the UK for Pakistan. Munshi’s sister, Riaz, formerly of Oxford, was later convicted of manslaughter and jailed for 12 years. Munshi was arrest in Oldham in October, and charged at Oxford Magistrates’ Court.

The Khans’ terrace house was set alight shortly after 3am on August 26, 1997 after the killers squirted petrol through the letterbox and setting it ablaze.

A two-month trial in Birmingham in 1998 heard the fire was set in a revenge attack amid a feud.
