Newest academy in perfect harmony

A local primary school has started a new era as Oldham’s newest sponsored academy.
Greenhill Primary has become Greenhill Academy, the first of a series of linked schools.
The school - described as “outstanding” during its last Ofsted report in 2009 - has a new sponsor, the Harmony Trust, a charitable local company set up to bring local schools together.
Executive principal Sandy Dixie said: “I am so excited to be involved in developing the Harmony Trust, a local primary academy working together with local schools. We are improving the life chances of so many children.”
The daily running of the school will continue, but new signs and a new website have marked the launch of the academy. Plans are in place to increase the size of the school with an extension in September for pre-nursery-age children.
