OLDHAM Library is joining forces with the Coliseum theatre for a whirlwind programme of drama, comedy and dance.
Live@thelibrary will offer four shows between now and May, all in the library’s performance space and presented with the Coliseum theatre company.
An oddball comedy show from female comedian Cheekykita opens the curtain for the first of the fringe-style productions. With Jody Kamali, the alternative comedy clown, organisers say the show on Thursday will “blow people’s minds”.
Next month, Helen McCarron brings her fast-paced show “The Runway”, influenced by the colourful worlds of fashion, dance, drama and movement on Thursday, March 27.
Scriptwriter and poet Anjum Malik will give a dramatic insight into ordinary people living unforeseen lives. “Her Hidden Stories”, which covers themes such as migration, leaving homeland, racism, love and homelessness, is staged on Thursday, April 24.
Writer and performer Lowri Evans presents her own personal experience of working with the elderly with diminishing memory on Thursday, May 22. “The Secret Life of You and Me” is described as a live, surreal scrapbook.
All performances start at 7pm. Tickets cost £5 and include a free drink during the interval.
