Charity ball completes great week

thousands of pounds is expected to be raised from this year’s mayoral charity ball, according to the Mayor of Oldham, Councillor John Hudson, said .
The ball, at Oldham Civic centre on Friday night, was attended, among others, by mayors from all 10 Greater Manchester boroughs.
Councillor Hudson said: “We had 560 people dining on Friday night, which was marvellous.
“I think the council’s mayoralty team pulled out all the stops. I couldn’t have asked any more of them.
“Staff and officers did a great job but this event was also about people — and our guests from Oldham and beyond made this a great night. It was all about people.”
