7,000 sign up for a power cut

MORE than 7,000 households have now signed up to the Greater Manchester Energy Switching Scheme in a bid to slash their energy bills.
The deadline to join the latest Greater Manchester energy switching scheme is March 9. Find out more by visiting www.betterenergydeals.org.uk or calling 0800 988 2426.
Everyone who registers an interest will be given a range of options to save money.
All 10 Greater Manchester councils support the plan, which aims to offer a supplier a bulk-energy deal so tariffs can be marginally reduced.
The organisers will hold a “reverse auction” on March 10, in which energy suppliers will bid for the 7,000-plus customers. The biggest savings will go to those who have been with long-term suppliers and who have never investigated switching for a better deal.
