THE case against a woman charged in connection with a fatal arson attack in 1997 could be dismissed.
Fiaz Munshi (38), of Manley Road, Oldham, was arrested last year in connection with a blaze in 1997 that killed Anum Khan (8), and brother Majid (15) in Cowley, Oxford. Munshi’s case has been reviewed over recent months.
The latest review session, last Thursday at London’s Old Bailey, has resulted in a likely application to dismiss the case against her at Oxford Crown Court on March 28.
Five men were convicted and jailed for life for murder in 1998 following the arson attack.
Munshi’s sister, Riaz, formerly of Oxford, was later convicted of manslaughter and jailed for 12 years.
