Travellers urged to move from site

SETTING up camp: travellers at Turf Lane, Royton
POLICE are in talks with travellers who arrived at a site in Royton over the weekend.
Caravans arrived on Turf Lane, behind Bee Mill, at 4pm on Saturday. Greater Manchester Police said officers visited the site on Saturday and Sunday. Another visit was due this morning.
Royton South councillors Marie and Steven Bashforth said they had been speaking to residents living near the area to reassure them the authorities were aware of the situation.
Councillor Marie Bashforth said: “We visited a lot of residents, especially those with homes backing on to the site.
