UNIVERSITY Campus Oldham and Oldham College have scooped two national awards for their innovative use of the latest technology.
The two campuses scored success in the national Education Innovation Conference and Exhibition (EICE), held in Manchester. The Oldham institutions competed with over 200 UK entries.
University Campus Oldham (UCO), which has 1,000 students, won the EICE university category award sponsored by the University Business Magazine.
Judges were impressed with its use of technology for individual and group support, research and assessment activities, including using social media and computer software.
At the same event Oldham College won the EICE college category sponsored by FE Week magazine.
During the 2012/13 academic year, it started an online-based curriculum delivered in collage libraries and learning centres or even at the homes of students. This has allowed the college to make better use of tutor time.
