THE young man police want to interview about Metrolink phone thefts
A thief snatched mobile phones from their owners on a Metrolink tram before jumping out and running off.
Police have released stills of a man they want to speak to about the two incidents at the Hollinwood Metrolink stop on January 17.
The victims were sitting next to the open doors when the thief got on, snatched each device and ran off before the doors closed. Neither robbery was reported to police.
Det-Con Stewart Lindsay of Oldham police said: “There have been a number of robberies at this station and we have launched an investigation.
“Neither of the January 17 victims has reported the theft and we are urging them to come forward now. I am also appealing to anyone who recognises the man to call us. The images are very clear; if you know this man you will recognise him.”
Call police on 0161 856 9080 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111.
