£58,000 poppy appeal record

THE Royal British Legion is celebrating a record-breaking haul for this year’s poppy appeal - for which Oldhamers raised £58,800.
Over £510,000 was collected across Greater Manchester - the fifth year in a row the region’s collectors have boosted their previous year’s total.
