RUN your way to fitness this summer at the new Milltown Carnival 7k.
Hot on the heels on the hugely successful Milltown to Moors Half Marathon and last year’s first Oldham 10k, the new Carnival Race, on July 22, will start and finish at the Lion’s Den in Alexandra Park on carnival day. It will be open to anyone aged 15 or over..
Race director Alan Keane said: “We had a fantastic response to our new 10k last year and we’ve seen a huge surge in people interested in taking up running. The logical next step was to add a shorter race to give up to 400 people the chance to get involved.
“Oldham is going running mad at the moment, and we wanted to give local people the opportunity to set themselves a goal and take part in a fun competitive event, that isn’t too difficult.”
Oldham Carnival event director Paul Davies said: “It’s a great addition to both the carnival attractions and to the Milltown diary of races.”
