Diane Chaderton: top midwife
CARING Diane Chadderton has been named the country’s Community Midwife of the Year.
The community matron is based at the Royal Oldham Hospital and won the accolade at the British Journal of Midwifery Practice awards in London.
Diane, from Royton, was nominated for her work in the community over the last 15 years by Eileen Stringer, a consultant midwife in public health at Pennine Acute Trust,
Eileen said: “Diane’s unfailing enthusiasm, passion and commitment deserves to be recognised. She is passionately committed to midwifery and has taught many midwives to provide the very best of care with the woman and family always at the centre of everything they do.”
Diane said: “I was shocked when I heard my name. I felt really excited the work the midwifery team strives to achieve has been recognised.”
