Hooray for housing in Hollinwood
Date published: 21 March 2014
AMBITIOUS plans to develop the derelict Royd mill site in Hollinwood include 52 homes.
Councillor Brian Ames, Labour’s Hollinwood representative, has welcomed the move to develop an under-utilised plot and provide housing in the area.
The site, which sits between Hawksley Street and Chamber Road, will contain 27 two-bedroom houses and a further 25 three-bedroom properties.
The site has been vacant since 1981 when production at the once-booming mill halted.
