OLDHAM Council has been allocated £811,773 of government funds to help repair the borough’s highways following the wettest winter on record.
Councillor Dave Hibbert, Oldham Council’s Cabinet member for environment and housing, said: “Over the last few months Oldham’s roads have suffered due to the extreme conditions. Our location, high on the Pennines, means our roads are more susceptible to cold-weather damage than other boroughs.”
The Oldham funding total was one of the highest in the region
