We’re in the zone

Mahdlo at the President's Cup.

MAHDLO members showed their impressive sports and dance skills as they battled it out against other youth zones in the OnSide President’s Cup.

More than 150 youngsters piled into Blackburn Youth Zone for the competition, all hoping to take the coveted trophy.

The sides competed in a range of activities including fitness challenges, dodgeball and dance competitions.

After taking an early lead, Mahdlo — Oldham turned on its head — eventually finished in third place as Blackburn retained the title on home soil with Wigan as runners-up.

Mahdlo didn’t leave empty-handed however, scooping the best-designed team banner prize, produced by members and Mahdlo volunteer Natasha Gibson.
