Sarah and the cuts to her forehead
A BOTCHED beauty treatment ended in a trip to A&E for an Oldham mum after her eyebrow was cut.
Sarah Limb was left with three cuts, a swollen forehead and an allergic reaction after a worker at Vina Nails in Tommyfield Indoor Market used a razor during an eyebrow wax.
Not only did the technician try to cover the mistake with cooling gel, says Sarah, but she didn’t tell the Derker mum-of-two about her injuries - and still charged her for the treatment.
Sarah discovered the extent of the cuts afterwards, when friends pointed them out.
“I felt a stinging sensation but didn’t realise she’d cut me,” said Sarah. “I’ve been going there about a year. I saw blood on the cotton wool she was using but I didn’t expect it to be as bad as it was.
“When it got really painful and swollen later that night I went to A&E and they said to go to my GP, who gave me a tetanus injection and antibiotics.
“You don’t expect that when you go for a simple eyebrow wax. It’s awful.”
Chuoi Tran, who owns Vina Nails, said that the business complies with health and safety procedures and has got rid of the small blades used for the top of the eyebrow since the incident.
“I am not sure exactly what happened as my wife did the treatment but she said that she told the lady that she had made a small mistake and accidentally cut her.
“She said “I’m sorry, I’m sorry” several times however the lady was very happy and paid for the wax.”
“We will not be using the blades anymore and have listened to all the advice we have been given and are complying with everything,” he said.
Mr Tran added that the business does four or five eyebrow waxes a day and is now in its fourth year of trading without any other complaints
