WRECKAGE . . . emergency service attend the accident in Waterloo Street
TWO women were taken to hospital after a car crash in Waterloo Street, Oldham, yesterday.
A silver Honda Civic and a white Nissan Juke collided at the junction of Rhodes Bank and Waterloo Street at around 2.15pm.
Firefighters used cutting equipment to remove the roof of the Civic before pulling the driver from the wreckage. She was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital as a precaution - as was the other driver, who is pregnant and shaken but was otherwise unharmed.
Glodwick-based driving instructor Forhad Miah (21) said: “There’s an accident here every two weeks but I’ve not seen one this bad before.
“Something needs to be done about the road markings because people can’t see them. When I bring my students down here they don’t know it’s a give way point.”
