Police hunt thug

POLICE are searching for a thug who attacked a man in St Mary’s Way, Oldham.
The victim was walking on Thursday afternoon the unknown man punched him in the face and knocked him out. His injuries might require surgery.
The attacker headed towards the town centre via Rock Street. He is described as white, in his early 30s, tall and skinny with a shaven head and blue eyes.
Detective Constable Andrew Swettenham said: “This appears to be entirely unprovoked. It happened at a very busy time of day on a busy road in full view of passing motorists and pedestrians.
“The attack has left the victim with serious facial injuries, which may require surgery.”
