Jobless total falls to 4,720

THE number of people out of work in Oldham has fallen, reaching its lowest figure since November, 2008.
The total is now 4,720, with 2,940 men seeking work, down 148, and 1,780 women, down 98, on the previous month.
In total, there were 246 fewer people out of work in Oldham in March than in February.
The year-on-year figures reveal a drop of 3,467 from the same time last year, when 8,187 people were unemployed in Oldham.
Figures, from the Office for National Statistics, show that nationally unemployment has fallen below 7 per cent for the first time since the recession.
