REGAINING a smile . . . Adam McQuillan (10) wants to help other children experience Florida
A fundraising concert is aiming to draw in enough to send a sick child on the trip of a lifetime to Florida.
And the person behind the mission is none other than 10-year-old Adam McQuillan - who was himself given the will torecover from an almost fatal car accident by a similar trip.
Charity Destination Florida helped Adam to visit the sunshine state and Disney World to help the long road to recovery after he was seriously injured when he was eight. He spent 10 weeks in a coma and eight months in hospital recovering from his brain injuries.
After two and a half years of medical treatment, Adam has returned to St Anne’s RC School, Greenacres and wants to give back to the charity that helped him. He is hoping to raise enough money to send a child living with a life-limiting or terminal illness on the trip to Florida with a fundraising concert taking place on Sunday.
The concert, at St Anne’s Rugby Club, Higginshaw Lane, will feature a variety of entertainment as local artists come together to perform and raise money.
