KANGAROOS swopped the Outback for Oldham on Saturday as festivalgoers refused to be deterred from the town’s annual arts extravaganza by wash-out weather.
Fancy dress marsupials hopped round the town centre entertaining children and lifting spirits at Festival Oldham as the recent rise in temperatures came to a halt.
Plays, stalls, music and art exhibitions were presented at Gallery Oldham and throughout the town centre - including the world’s smallest theatre.
The stage was mounted on the sidecar of a Royal Enfield motorcycle with space for two audience members to enjoy a production of “King Kong”.
Among other attractions were acrobats the Black Eagles, interactive play “The Flying Machine”, where children are taken on a magical flight, and breakdancers Exception Elle.
Street theatre, a BMX stunt show, numerous arts and crafts stalls and a piece of illusionary street art were also on offer at the gallery.
