A £2.7 MILLION project to boost the power supply to 24,000 Oldham homes is underway.
Engineers are to rebuild six miles of ageing overhead power lines and replace a 50-year-old electricity pylon in Foxdenton Lane, Chadderton.
The project, completed by the end of August, will give Chadderton and Royton residents a reliable power supply.
Tim Groom, major projects manager for Electricity North-West, said: “The power lines have served the area well for many years and this work ensures we can provide a safe, reliable and efficient electricity supply to the area for many years to come.”
