OLDHAMERS will reap the rewards of a multi-million pound affordable homes deal from the Government.
Housing Minister Kris Hopkins announced plans for 13 housing associations — including Great Places in Oldham — to share £208 million in loans to build 4,800 new homes.
In Greater Manchester there will be 429, including 86 in Oldham, 152 in Wigan, 69 in Bolton, 58 in Salford, 52 in Manchester and 12 in Rochdale.
Mr Hopkins said: “Since 2010 we’ve delivered 170,000 new affordable homes — but we want to go further. This deal means thousands of new affordable homes will be built in communities from Glasgow to Truro, for families in real need.”
