Trader fined over smuggled tobacco

A HATHERSHAW shopkeeper has been prosecuted for possessing counterfeit and smuggled tobacco.
Oldham Trading Standards officers raided Hussain Superstore in Ashton Road in October 2013.
Quaisar Hussain pleaded guilty at Oldham Magistrates Court to 14 offences under the Trade Marks Act 1994 and Consumer Protection Act 1987.
The 40 year old, who had previously received a caution for a similar offence and for selling tobacco to an underage child, was fined £4,800 and ordered to pay costs of £2,047. The court ordered the detruction of the tobacco
