THE block in Littlemoor Lane where the young man’s body was discovered
THE body of a young man laid undiscovered in his Littlemoor flat for almost two weeks.
Littlemoor Lane residents called police after a bad smell came from the flat.
The man — believed to be in his early 20s — is yet to be formally identified and it is believed his body was in an extremely decomposed state.
A nearby resident said: “I didn’t know him personally and he was very quiet. He had only lived there for about four months and kept himself to himself, which is probably why no one noticed when he hadn’t been seen for a while.
“No one seemed to know his name. People thought it was blocked drains when the smell got bad but then someone saw flies at the window. When the police broke in the smell was so bad it was obvious he had died some time ago.”
Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the death
