A FLY-TIPPING mum has been hit with a £530 bill after she was found guilty of dumping rubbish in Holts Lane.
Margaret Ward (26), of Lavender Road, Holts, pleaded not guilty to failing to keep her rubbish under control. Oldham magistrates found her name on a letter in the pile of household rubbish, concrete slabs and paperwork following a complaint.
Ward admitted the letter was hers but didn’t recognise the rubbish or know how it came to be dumped there.
She said: “I put two bags of rubbish next to my bin and when I went out the next morning, the whole lot was gone. I don’t have a car so I couldn’t have got the waste to that place.”
Ward was given a 12 month conditional discharge but was ordered to pay £530 in costs
