New give way lines on Waterloo Street, scene of several accidents in recent years.
NEW road markings have been painted at an accident blackspot in a bid to make the busy town-centre junction safer.
Council workers were at the junction of Waterloo Street and Rhodes Bank to repaint the markings after motorists raised concerns following a string of bumps.
The Chronicle published pictures in April showing eight accidents in two years.
Resurfacing work is also expected to take place.
