SEVEN teachers were assaulted by a pupil at a Failsworth special needs school on Thursday after he lost control when reprimanded for chewing gum.
Police were called to Spring Brook upper school, Dean Street, shortly before noon when the boy became aggressive after being warned by teachers.
It is alleged that the boy threw a chair, which broke, and headbutted, kicked, punched and pinched seven members of staff who tried to restrain him.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested and later charged with seven counts of assault and one criminal damage and is due to appear at youth court next Friday.
