A Fiennes effort!

LITTLE Freddie Dobbs has had a helping hand in his school history project - from the world’s greatest living explorer.
Classmates were impressed when Sir Ranulph Fiennes helped the 11 year old with his research.
Freddie, who lives in Saddleworth, was given a history project by Manchester Grammar School to pick a famous explorer and analyse their efforts and achievements.
Spurred by his grandmother - who lives close to the Fiennes family - Freddie chose Sir Ranulph and wrote to the explorer with questions.
“I was absolutely overjoyed when he replied,” said Freddie. “He sent me a letter and a signed autobiography, both of which helped me better understand what he had been through and what he’s discovered on his travels.”
Freddie says his encounter and advice from Sir Ranulph has heightened his interest in travel and exploring.
He added: “I have enjoyed reading more about him. I hope one day to meet him in person so I can ask him more.”
