THE Manchester Street footbridge due for demolition
A FOOTBRIDGE on the approach to Oldham town centre has been closed and will be demolished after a spate of vandalism made it too dangerous to use.
The walkway over Manchester Road would be too expensive to repair, says the council. There was already a plan to demolish the underused bridge later in the year. Alternative crossings exist nearby.
