Oldham nurses now have a new computer-based patient record system to streamline their work.

They are the latest group to join the wider system, known as Paris, which is being introduced across all community and mental health services run by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust over two years.

The Trust’s children’s community nursing teams were the first to start using the system at the end of last year, joined recently by adult community health teams.

Nurses will be able to check and update records using tablet devices, doing away with paper records.

Elizabeth Hill, community matron in Oldham, said: “We’re taking it one step at a time, but everyone can see the enormous benefits.

“It’s important we make the most of technology and this is a very user-friendly system that will change things for the better, not only for the patients we care for, but also for staff.”
