Deal will revive playing fields
Date published: 27 June 2014
SPORTS facilities at Hulme Grammar School could be improved if Oldham Council approves a deal for the use of underused playing fields.
Merton Playing Fields in Frederick Street, Coppice, are unused following the closure of St Augustine’s RC High School.
On Monday, Oldham Council Cabinet will decide whether to lease the fields to the private school for sport uses on a 30-year lease. The fields would also be available for community use.
