Man pleads guilty over danger pet charge
Date published: 03 July 2014
A PET owner has pleaded guilty to a dangerous dog charge following its attack on a policeman.
On June 1 a white bull terrier owned by Martin Shaw (36) of Derwent Drive, Shaw, attacked PC Hamm in the owner’s garden. PC Hamm was bitten after turning quickly when the dog leapt at him, but the bite didn’t break the skin.
Oldham Magistrates adjourned the case on Friday for a vet report which could decide the dog’s fate. Shaw will appear again in court on August 29.
