OLDHAM Council’s cabinet members last night revealed which roads will be repaired with the £812,000 Government funding to fix the damage done by severe winter weather.
All the roads to be repaired are in Saddleworth, including:
::Huddersfield Road - £260,000 will be spent on resurfacing.
::Ralphs Lane, Saddleworth North and Green Lane, Strinesdale - both will receive full carriageway reconstruction.
::Grains Bar Road, Delph - £67,766 will be spent on resurfacing.
::Brun Lane, Friezland Lane, Two Acres Lane, Ship Lane, Intake Lane and Manor Lane - large=scale patching.
::£150,000 will be spent to replace a wall at the crossroads of Oldham Road in Denshaw. The wall is in poor condition and a collapse would close the road.
::Freizland Lane, Greenfield - a wall in danger of collapse will see a £120,000 rebuild.
Council leader Councillor Jim McMahon said: “The money we have been given is just a drop in the ocean. We need to make sure the Government doesn’t rest on its laurels.”
