Delivering a blow against criminals
Date published: 11 July 2014
CRIMESTOPPERS has teamed up with the Post Office to stamp out crime in branches across Manchester.
The two organisations have joined forces to tackle crime in city centre branches and appeal to members of the public to help keep communities safe.
The move comes following a successful pilot campaign in the West Midlands last year to clamp down on cash-in-transit robberies.
The Stamping out Crime campaign will use posters and social media to encourage the public to share crucial information that could see criminals brought to justice.
Crimestoppers is also offering a reward of up to £25,000 for information — passed through the charity’s 0800-555 111 number — leading to an arrest and conviction for an offence committed in a post office.
Crimestoppers head of development, Anamari Bishopp, said: “Crimestoppers and the post office are both fully focused on providing a first-class service to our local communities.
“Working together, and with the help of the public, we hope that we can stamp out offences against the Post Office and its customers so that we can live within safer communities, without the fear of crime.”
