Patient poll examines state of GP surgeries
Date published: 11 July 2014
PATIENT satisfaction levels in Oldham remain high, according to a new poll looking into GP services in the country.
In the latest GP Patient Survey, 85 per cent of patients rated their overall experience of GP services in Oldham as good.
A further 93 per cent said they were given an appointment at a time convenient to them and 87 per cent thought the reception at their surgery was good.
The annual survey is designed to give patients the opportunity to comment on their experience of their GP practice and covers a range of issues such as appointments at their surgery, satisfaction with opening hours and the quality of care received from their GP and practice nurses.
A spokesman for Oldham Clinical Commissioning Group, which has 45 GP practices in the borough, said: “Feedback from patients is a vital source of information which helps inform the decisions we make as lead healthcare commissioner for Oldham.
“We are therefore very pleased to hear the recent survey showed that our patients are largely happy with the service they receive from their local GP practice.”
