The Lonely Bouquet project
AN Oldham florist shop is saying it with flowers as they sow the seeds of love and kindness.
Miller’s Florist, in Huddersfield Road, has been leaving random bouquets of flowers around the borough for people to find and either take home or pass on to someone they care about.
Each “lonely bouquet” bunch has a tag fastened to it asking whoever finds it to “adopt it”, take care of it and then let its “flower friends” at Millers know where it ended up.
Millers are also asking people on their Facebook page to nominate a deserving loved one or friend to receive a surprise “lonely bouquet” once a month.
The first over-the-moon recipient Cath Keeton, from Shaw, said: “I could not believe it when they turned up on my doorstep, it was such a lovely surprise. What a nice thing to do for people it really made me feel special.”
To find out more or nominate someone find Miller’s Florist and Gifts page on Facebook.
