OLDHAM town centre is revving up for the return of the free annual Classic Car Show.
The rally, which has been organised by Tame Valley Vintage and Classic Car Club with support from Oldham Town Centre Partnership, returns for its ninth year on Sunday.
Organisers have arranged for around 50 cars — including pre-war tourers, 1960s sports and American classics, motorcycles and light commercial vehicles — to be on display.
There will also be a host of automotive-themed entertainment taking place on the day.
Lollipop Patrol will be on hand to help escort pedestrians through the town centre while Edinburgh Fringe favourites The Wardens will also be on patrol to enforce any rule they see fit.
Car show regulars The Billy Bedlam Band are back playing traditional jazz and big band sounds.
Councillor Jean Stretton, Cabinet member for town centres, culture and tourism, said: “This event is a great opportunity for motoring enthusiasts and families to visit Oldham town centre and see cars from years gone by.
“Previous shows have been a great success and the event is growing year on year.”
Vehicles will be judged under 10 different categories — with one owner being presented with the Car of the Show title.
The event runs from 10am-3pm in High Street where owners will also be on hand to chat about their car’s history to fellow enthusiasts.
