Harry’s train set
Date published: 15 July 2014
AN Oldham train station is on track to make some new mates.
Resident and commuter Harry Alldritt is spearheading a campaign to set up the Friends of Mills Hill Station, which borders Chadderton and Middleton, on Oldham Road.
Taking on the unmanned station would mean they could spruce up the place, explained Harry, who lives close by, and keep an eye on safety and security issues.
“Mills Hill station has become very popular as more and more people use public transport,” said Harry.
“We thought it would be nice to form a friends group here because they’ve sprung up elsewhere in Greater Manchester.”
If you’re interested in joining the Friends of Mill Hill Station or wish to donate items such as planters or gardening equipment call Harry on 0161-345 3876
