FORMER “Coronation Street” star Sean Wilson is officially a big cheese after landing a lucrative new contract.

The Diggle actor, who played Martin Platt in the ITV soap for 20 years, will supply a range of Lancashire cheeses — named How’s Yer Father, Mouth Almighty and Smelly Ha’peth — to nationwide discount store B&M Bargains.

He set up Saddleworth Cheese Company in 2005 after leaving the show and has since worked on a Channel 5 cookery programme and published “The Great Northern Cookbook”.

Speaking about his new range, he said: “It’s for people who don’t get a lot of time to cook, who don’t necessarily go into high-end supermarkets but don’t want to compromise on quality.

“My business partner and I were approached about doing the range and I said I’d want the range to have a certain proviso.

“It had to be a clean label, so minimum salt and preservatives, so people can buy our products with confidence.

“I’m really proud of what we’ve done and we are working on another 10 lines to bring out in the future.”
