OLDHAM town centre is set to look blooming lovely on Saturday as visitors enjoy the fifth annual Flower Festival.
This year the horticultural extravaganza is even bigger with entertainment for children at the opening of a new play area in Market Place.
The event, organised by Oldham Town Centre Partnership, runs from 11am-4pm.
Youngsters can enjoy planting lessons while colourful characters roam town-centre streets.
The new play area stands next to the central floral display, which forms part of Oldham’s North-West in Bloom entry.
Celebrity gardener Joe Swift — presenter of BBC show “Gardener’s World” and the Chelsea Flower Show — will take part in a question-and-answer session for gardening enthusiasts and perform live floral demonstrations.
Visitors can win the flower arrangements in a prize-draw and local businesses will be giving away around 2,000 free flowers to customers on the day.
