Teens shine at charity car wash

A TEACHER has praised the efforts of a group of teenagers who held a sponsored car wash to raise thousands of pounds for Gaza.
Abdullah Al Mohsin, a special-needs teaching assistant at The Radclyffe School, Chadderton, was driving home when he saw the group of youngsters off Featherstall Road.
Abdullah (22) said: “When I saw them I thought they were unbelievable and inspiring.”
Hundreds have died since the renewed conflict in the Middle East earlier this month.
Mehzabin Yusuf (16), from Westwood, came up with the idea to raise the money through the charity Islamic Relief.
She said: “People were saying how proud they were of us.”
From the car wash, they raised an impressive £850 after two days. They also went door-to-door with buckets provided by Islamic Relief and, including the car-wash proceeds, they amassed a bumper £2,230.
Abdullah added: “I don’t think I would have had the courage and the temperament to be doing what they’re doing at 15 and 16 years old while also fasting.”
